GETTING TO TRANG
AND KOH KRADAN
Trang
can be reached by
list below : Trang offers motorcycle, or Tuk Tuk, for travel within the
municipality at 10-20 baht per trip. Travel between the districts can be by buses
and mini-buses or by renting vans from terminal into the city.
Koh Kradan
(Kradan Island) can be reach by boat such as long-tail boat, ferry and
speed boat. Visitors can take a long-tail boat around 50 minutes to Koh Kradan or from Pak Meng Pier
takes a 1.50 hour to Koh Kradan. Longtail
boat can rent by call 088-0113200 contact Bang Fon. He can manage
mini-van from Trang and longtail boat from peir to Koh Kradan with
reasonable price and also one-day trip to Talay Trang and one day trip
to Koh Rok.
Train
from
Bangkok station (0-2222-7010, ext.
4311-13). Rapid and express trains depart from the Bangkok Railway Station to Trang daily at 5.05 p.m. and 6.20 p.m. respectively arrive
Trang at 8:35 a.m., taking 15 hours for the 870-kilometre journey. More
information can be obtained from Bangkok Railway Station at Tel. 1690 The ticket price around
900 Baht for Air-Condition.

Air offers
one flight a day from Bangkok to Trang.

By bus: The Transport Company provides
regular and air-conditioned buses daily from from the Southern Bus
Terminal (0-2434-5558, 435-1199-200) on the Pin Klao - Nakhon Chaisi
Road. or the Transport Company in Trang at tel. 075-21 8718.
It takes 12
hours for the trip.
Air-conditioned buses: varying
in 3 types, depart from the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok to Trang every day
at the following times:
VIP 24 Seats Bus: 7 p.m. and 7.30
p.m. The price ticket is around 1,100+ Baht.
Standard 1 Bus:
7 a.m., 7 p.m., 7.50 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Standard 2 Bus: 5 p.m.

Trang
Trang is a coastal province on the Indian
Ocean with a long western coastline of about 199 kilometres. The
province consists of an archipelago in the Andaman Sea with over 46
islands. Of these, 12 are in Amphoe Kantang, 13 in Amphoe Palian and 21
in Amphoe Sikao. The best time for sea travel is during October to May
of the following year.
